Mr.Salih Mohammad Ragastani was born in 28 of August 1963 in beautiful Province of Panjshir. He has completed his primary school in Lyce Istoqlal and his secondary school in Kabul Mechanical School (Lyce).

He started his work in 1980 with Afghanistan National Hero –Ahmad Sha Masoud. He has completed his military study in Jamihat-e-Islami University, and became a military officer. Mr .Ragastani was thought and supervised by Ahmad Sha Masoud. He was working with him more than 21 years and learnt different tactics and proficiencies. He worked in different positions and fields with Afghanistan National Hero –Ahmad Sha Masoud.

Mr.Ragistani was promoted very surprisingly and became a military trainer and Sergeant. He played a significant role as a Chief of Operational Sergeant, in many battlefields. People known him as (Zabat Salih) it means (Sergeant Salih). People recognized him as a high profile and skillful Officer (Sergeant), but he is not interested to be called so.

Mr. Ragastani admitted in 1994 in Kabul University in Faculty of Political Science, but the situation got worst and Taliban came to power, he could not complete his study any more and left the University.

From 1997 to 2000, he was a special representative of Ahmad Sha Masoud in Tajikistan. From 2000 till 2003, he was appointed as a military Attaché in Afghanistan Embassy in Moscow.

He is a great writer and has written many books and articles .One of the best book which he has written is “Massoud Wa Azadi” (Massoud and Freedom) He is now serving as a representative a (lawmaker) and Member of Parliament of Panjshir Province in Afghanistan.
