Engineer Nick Mohammed Panjshiri was born in 1325 in Astana district, Panjshir Province .He completed his primary and secondary school in Habibia Kabul High School .He went to Poland for further education. And he got his Higher Education Degree in 1345- 1351 from there in Civil Engineering. He worked as Project Engineer in (Cement Project of Herat, in Herat province. He built the Kabul University Hostel, which is the biggest hostel in central Asia, Veterinary in Darul-Aman Kabul, Tele-communication 18th floor building in Kabul, and the biggest Mosque in Panjshir. He is currently working as a director and project engineer designer of the building of the Ahmad Sha Masoud’s Tomb in Panjshir.
He is a very educated person. Both, in politic and cultural activities. In 1982 he began publishing a weekly newsletter in Panjshir and founded the first Radio Station of the Mujahideen. Later he was posted as a political officer of Jamiat-e-Islami (Islamic Society) to Peshawar to represent Commander Massood. Since 1985 he was publishing a bi-weekly news bulletin called AFGHAN news, which lasted until, the collapse of Kabul (fall in) to the hand of Taliban in 1996. From 1992 to 1994 he was the Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation. After the fall of Kabul to the Taliban, he returned to Panjshir and began publishing a weekly Newspaper called Payam-e-Mujahid. This publication is the only one from inside of Afghanistan which is also posted on the Internet. Throughout the over twenty years of war in Afghanistan. He has travelled to many countries to speak about the Afghan freedom struggle, including testifying before the United States Congress, and has published many articles about the Afghan Resistance.
